Endless walks: discover the most beautiful countryside and off-leash areas

Put on your walking boots, because during your holiday in Limburg with your dog, you can step straight out of our park and into the countryside of North Limburg. Nestled amongst the varied woodland and heathland landscapes lies an extensive network of footpaths, allowing you to discover a new route every day. Want to give your four-legged friend real freedom? Then visit the vast off-leash areas nearby. De Groote Heide nature reserve offers plenty of space to roam freely. De Maasduinen National Park also welcomes dogs with open arms. In the two official off-leash areas, at the Eendenmeer and in Boswachterij Afferden, your dog can run around to its heart’s content. Outside these areas, your dog is welcome to join you on an adventure, kept on a lead, across the rolling river dunes and along the fens.

    De Groote Heide Nature Reserve

    A vast area of heathland and woodland where dogs are allowed to run freely all year round. A popular spot full of sandy paths and plenty of opportunities for dogs to have a sniff about.

    Duck Lake

    A beautifully demarcated off-leash area surrounding the woods and the waters of the Eendenmeer. Ideal for a walk with your four-legged friend.

    Afferden Forestry Office

    Go on an adventurous stroll through dense coniferous forests and rolling river dunes in an official off-lead area. Outside this area, your dog must be kept on a lead.
